It's still very difficult to understand what Starmer is attempting to do. How can we square his latest claim that mass immigration was a deliberate and regrettable policy, with his long term support for it? My best guess is that he is trying to link immigration to Brexit as the main driver. He wants to return us to the EU, and is prepared to risk some media and commentariat ridicule if he can persuade more people to jump aboard a "rejoiner" bandwagon. He might think that he can reclaim some of the working class from the "far right" if he offers them prosperity, opportunities for their children, and a dispersal of the African males currently occupying the Holiday Inn.
I also suspect he might be playing the same game with the whole economy. Businesses will fail and manufacturing will decline even further due to the highest energy prices in the developed world. But this won't be the fault of the hyper-caffeinated ranter in charge of energy; it will be because "little Englanders" were misled by the likes of Farage.
Today's "re-launch" will, I'm hoping, reveal more. Because the Starmer is still an enigma, and I can't work out whether he is the malign and able executive of supra-national interests, or a career civil servant so far out of his depth that we are believing conspiracy theories to explain his ineptitude.
Either way, the UK needs mass deportations if we are to save ourselves. I'm hoping that sufficient numbers of people come to see this, and that a benign policy will gain traction and prevail against the images of cattle-trucks and violence the left will undoubtedly try to peddle. But it needs to happen, and I don't much care whether we do it the easy way or the hard way.
All good points. The problem with Starmer is I think it's took easy to give him credit for insight he simply doesn't possess. A cursory analysis of every time he's contradicted himself, tends to suggest he never has any plan except saying what he thinks is politically expedient at the time. If he genuinely does anything in terms of stemming the flow of immigration I'll be the first to congratulate him, however I suspect (as you say) he has ulterior motives.
Simple. Starmer knows that most of the Leftist media will give him an easy ride and regurgitate his blatant lies; that's how Communism has always worked. China wrote the UN's 'Compact for Global Migration' and the west's useful idiots all accepted it, without question. It is an act of modern, subtle warfare and it's working; demoralising and demoralising normal society.
Anyone who believes that his policy reset today is going to stop them ruining everything they touch is falling for the snake oil sales scam that he was peddling after Southport. His comments on immigration are astounding. He’s really nailed his colours to the mast this time though and given us something to hold him to account. Of course legal migration will come down thanks to the changes Sunak made to dependents barred from joining students. My guess is the numbers will drop more slowly under snake oil Starmer than they would have even under the useless Tories but now we have the super eloquent Rupert Lowe with some hard numbers to hold these traitors to account. Very much enjoyed your interview with him Frank.
'In addition, Nigel Farage has just revealed that only 1 in 5 legal migrants are working - how’s that boosting the economy?' - Don't forget that they were also supposed to be paying for our pensions.
